Shimmering Colors - The Magic of Iridescence |
|---|
| Instructor: Bobbie Irwin |
|---|
Weave magical fabrics that appear to change color without using tiny silk threads! Weave a plain-weave color gamp with a limited range of warp colors and up to 24 weft colors in pearl cotton. After analyzing the results, choose two effective weft colors to experiment with while weaving a second sampler with a variety of structures on the same warp. Iridescence is guaranteed! Numerous fabric swatches are provided for inspiration. 3-color, 4-color, and even 5-color iridescence are some of the amazing possibilities. | Instructor Bio: Bobbi travels extensively from her Montrose, Colorado studio to teach for guilds and conferences. She especially enjoys textile research and her continuing study of iridescence is the topic she finds most exciting and intriguing. Her article in Handwoven (January 2004) is one of the few ever published about iridescence in handwoven fabrics. |
