Jim makes tools and equipment for spinners and weavers using varieties of exotic and domestic woods, always from sustainable sources. Every piece is his design, cut by his hands and no two pieces are exactly alike.

He made the commemorative pieces for the past two Convergence Conferences and will be making three wooden pieces for the 2010 event in Albuquerque.

Jim loves making small hand-held tools like shuttles and drop spindles, and his spindles and shuttles have appeared in Handwoven and in Spin-Off Magazines. He also makes some larger pieces of equipment such as benches and foot-powered skein winders.
